At high Town Hall levels (TH14–TH16), defensive and troop upgrades take up to 14 to 18 days each. Using Magic Items strategically saves months of real-world waiting time.
Golden Rule: Never use a Book or Hammer on an upgrade that takes fewer than 8 days. Reserve them exclusively for your longest, most expensive upgrades!
Books vs Hammers: When to Use Which
- Book of Building: Farm the resources yourself, start the upgrade, and immediately complete it with the Book. Best used on the Town Hall, Clan Castle, and Spell Factories.
- Hammer of Building: Requires NO resources and NO waiting time. Best used on maximum cost defenses (Eagle Artillery, Monolith, Scattershots) to bypass the 20M+ Gold cost entirely.
- Book of Heroes: Best paired with Hero Potions during Clan War League to ensure 100% hero availability.

- Goblin Builder / Goblin Researcher: Unbeatable value during major update rushes for 40 gems/day.
